We keep pushing the use of micro sites. Subaru just released this one – it’s fun and gives a reason to come back. The WRX is a cult car to non-gear heads, a simple turbo swap and these things will put out insane power, and stock they’re no slouch. They know they have a culted audience with tons of on-line presence about racing, competing and modding – and they know how to get in front of them.

Just back from Cape Cod visiting healthcare clients. Going back in a week or two, I hope to get some photos as good as this one I borrowed. I’m going to enjoy this project, I love branding (web + more) and I love it even more in places I like to visit!

A new article in the NY Times Magazine has awed me again. This feature was about the advancement of women’s tennis. “Women have certainly never hit harder and not just on account of improved equipment. They’re stronger, bigger, faster, better trained and pushed above all by the example of the Williams sisters.” The interactive slideshow of entitled “Women Who Hit Hard” by Dewey Nicks is breathtaking. Not to mention the opening slide has amazing typography! One of my favorite photographs (the bottom one) is of Samantha Stosur of Australia, where Nicks captures the ball being absorbed by the racket. So cool.

sniff sniff, I think I’m gonna cry. Sam Adams showed up to help us bind our presentations. We’re off to CA tomorrow to show some really great strategy, graphic design, web designs and social media concepts for CA hospices. Who would have thought a Raleigh design firm would be doing such targeted researched stuff? I’m happy and will sleep good tonight.

I got something caught in my teeth… no, but thanks go out to Mo Joe’s Burger Joint for feeding us while we print and bind presentations (for a San Diego healthcare – hospice client. you feed our creativity and don’t know it!). As a Raleigh design firm we’re happy to work in cool places. Introducing some really creative web designs and social media ideas & in LA the next day!

Once again companies are shuffling to gain trust and position themselves as ‘one of us’. Here’s one of my favorite examples – Chrysler Group’s campaign for the 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee (http://www.jeep.com/en/2011/grand_cherokee/sitelet/). The ad focuses on the spirit and craftsmanship that once made the United States the country it was. The campaign, created by the advertising agency Wieden+Kennedy, also introduces a new tagline for the brand—“The things we make, make us.” How’s that for generating warm feelings of community? It even has cowboys for God’s sake.

Looking forward to our trip to show new work in San Diego. Hoping to find another quiet moment like this one from last time.
